With around 480 pupils, Dean Close is a place where all faces are familiar. Based on strong Christian values and helped by impressive facilities, the atmosphere not only nurtures academic, sporting, artistic and musical talents, but also friendship, integrity and mutual respect.

One of the earliest fully co-educational independent schools, the numbers of girls and boys are almost equal making the school truly co-educational. In a recent HMC Inspection Report, inspectors commented that Dean Close was arguably one of the most successful small co-educational boarding schools in the country.

The well-being of the individual pupil and the unique achievements of each one are central to our philosophy; it is our aim to provide the opportunity and encouragement for all pupils to develop and excel in their own way.
