School
Kent College is situated in a delightful 80 acre semi-rural location adjoining 200 acres of ancient woodland. The idyllic campus overlooks the historic city of Canterbury and is within easy access to London and its airports.

The spirit of the School
Kent College is part of the Methodist Schools Group, though it happily welcomes pupils of all faiths, and none. It is renowned as a particularly friendly and welcoming school with a strong family feeling. Kent College provides a challenging yet unfailingly supportive community that nurtures and develops an impressive range of talents and interests to enable every pupil to realise their full potential.

Academic achievement
Pupils are given every opportunity and support to achieve academic excellence. In 2008 the school had a 99% A-level pass rate with particular strength in Maths and the Sciences. Over 62% of all A-level examination entries achieved A to B grades. Almost 50% of all GCSE exams taken were at A* or A. The School can proudly boast that almost all sixth formers go on to their first choice University, including Oxford and Cambridge. This academic strength reflects the small class sizes and the quality of the exceptionally well-qualified, enthusiastic and experienced teaching staff. A select number of pupils benefit from a specialist Dyslexia Unit and International Study Centre where pupils from overseas are given individual support and direction so that they might join mainstream lessons and progress throughout the school.

Scholarships and Bursaries
Scholarships are awarded to pupils with exceptional talents: Academic, Sport, Music, Art and Drama. Kent College is also able to offer means tested bursaries of up to 100%. This enables the school to open its doors to all members of the community.

Home away from home
There are four boarding houses on the campus, two for boys and two for girls, each with house parents for whom this is their family residence. Every child is given personal attention and supervision, and new arrivals are given special help to settle in to their new home. Recent investment has brought seamless wireless internet connection to all four boarding houses. Students and parents benefit from flexibility as the school provides termly, weekly and occasional boarding

Sporting success
With the benefit of a floodlit all-weather pitch, used for hockey in the winter and tennis in the summer, as well as a superbly equipped Sports Hall and numerous pitches, Kent College teams make formidable competitors in any sport. Hockey is a particular strength, with regular representation in County and National squads. The school has high hopes for four pupils who are well on course to represent Britain in London 2012.

The cultural dimension
Music and drama play a central role in the life of the school, with many performances each year. The new Music Centre offers state of the art facilities for all aspects of the subject. The provision for Music Technology is now amongst the best in the country. These facilities have helped the school to offer over 30 music scholarships, currently including two concert musicians. Dance is becoming increasingly popular, and examples of our art department are proudly displayed around the campus.

Beyond the classroom
A huge range of extracurricular activities is available during lunch breaks, after school and during weekends. These opportunities are varied ranging from Duke of Edinburgh, to debating. The school even has its own farm and developing equine centre. Language exchanges and overseas trips play an important role in offering a diverse range of personal development opportunities. In August 2008 students attended the Olympics in Beijing prior to a cultural adventure around China.

Kent College Infant and Junior School (Vernon Holme)
Vernon Holme is located under a mile away in a glorious parkland setting. It provides a stimulating and supportive environment for boys and girls from ages 3-11. Boarding is available from the age of seven. This setting allows children to thrive in a safe and happy atmosphere where their individuality is fostered. The majority of students progress, naturally, to the Senior School.
