School Fees
School fees are a significant investment in a child's future
Public school fees cover tuition in the subjects of the normal school curriculum plus, where appropriate, boarding charges.Schools decide their own fees and there is no governing body that controls the amounts charged.School fees planning is available from specialist advisers and some schools have introduced schemes where parents (or grandparents) may make a lump sum payment in advance in return for credits at a special rate.
Many schools also offer optional "extras" and these will be charged on the end of term school bill. Parents may choose to place a limit on the extras and should agree this in advance with the school.
Schools do not refund fees for any period of schooling missed by a child, even if it is the result of illness, and parents may wish to consider school fees insurance schemes. Premiums are usually calculated as a percentage of the termly fee and the school will have details of the insurance they offer.
