Taunton School is a leading independent boarding and day school for boys and girls aged 13 to 18 years. The School is made up of 4 parts: First Steps Nursery is designed for the youngest pupils from age 2 and builds the important relationship between home and school. At 4 years pupils transfer to Pre-Prep before going on to the Preparatory School at 7, gradually preparing for a smooth transition into the Senior School at 13. The School's safe and secure location, enhanced by its excellent facilities and staff, mean it is able to provide an outstanding all round education for day pupils and boarders alike.

Pastoral Care
Close friends on hand, abundant sporting and cultural activities, access to extensive resources and the opportunity to develop skills and friendships beyond those offered in the home environment are just some of the advantages of life at Taunton School. Sixth Form
The International Baccalaureate and A Levels are offered to Sixth Form students, a choice that is rare in Somerset. Academic results are excellent and the School regularly sends significant numbers of students to Oxbridge, with 95% of sixth formers going on to higher education. The Sixth Form has a distinctive ethos. There is an atmosphere of constructive energy - senior students participate in many areas and, through their excellent example, they lead the rest of the School.

Extra Curricular Activities
An extensive range of extra curricular activities are designed to cater for as many interests as possible; it is the School's view that finding something at which every pupil can achieve is the key which unlocks the door to successes in other areas. The School has an outstanding reputation in games and especially in debating, public speaking, music, drama and art which all help to produce well rounded students with that spark of originality and individuality which will set them apart.

The Extended Day
The strong partnership between home and School is evident in the network of School transport that brings children into School from a wide area and therefore provides the opportunity for extended School days from 8am to 6pm. In addition the School provides the availability of occasional boarding, holiday care and activities for younger children together with GCSE and A level revision courses.
